Boosh. Welcome to the Wacky Wednesday.. breakdown.. or something. This week, Sherlock returns! Charlize Theron, Christoph Waltz, Jodie Foster, John C. Reilly, and Kate Winslet all act their age.. and sigh.. Chipmunks.
First up.. alphabetically.. Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-wrecked. Maybe I'm un-American.. maybe I just don't get it. Don't get me wrong, I have fond memories from childhood of these little anthropomorphic rodents.. but how does this series keep getting sequels? The first one was cute, fun, playful.. it was even done well! In the current state of cinema, it almost NEEDED to be done, because someone else probably would have gotten ahold of it and ruined it. The second one was a necessary evil.. after establishing the 'Munks.. where were the Chipettes? But I feel they may be jumping the shark (probably literally) with this one. (I'm pretty sure that phrase applies to movies, too.) What I do like about these movies is the production value, cast, and consistency. Jason Lee, David Cross, Justin Long, Matthew Gubler, Jesse McCartney, Christina Applegate, Anna Faris, and Amy Poehler have certainly stuck it out. And Alan Tudyk joined the cast for this one, so I'm going to have to watch it. (You, clever casting director, you.) Still, it'll probably only be good for the whole family, and not a solo run. Unless you want to end up on a list.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked: Probably worth a look-see if you have kids with you. But you should NOT find kids to go see this with you. You will get arrested.
Carnage:
Young Adult: If someone tries to tell you what this is about, this is "all right" at best. The trailer and everything else about this movie should not be neglected. Go see this!
